I met Robin and Kirk last summer when they booked me to shoot their wedding and engagement photos.  We actually tried to shoot these on Monday night but the storm changed our plans.  So last night we went out to Katepwa and tried again.  What a perfectly beautiful night.  Warm, no wind and amazingly.....no bugs.  We also had the perfect location.  We shot at Robin's grandfather's cabin.  Actually her two uncles also have the cabin's beside and the surrounding land so its really a family affair.  Its so pretty down there and since she spent a lot of time their growing up, it was the perfect location for these photos. Kirk and Robin are such a sweet couple and their wedding is going to be totally unique, just like them.  I have to send a special thanks to Kirk for putting up with all my hair brained ideas, lol and to Robin's uncle for coincidentally finding the robins nest that we shot Robin's ring in.  That was meant to be :)

Was that a real birds' nest and eggs? I've heard that birds can smell when a predator (humans) have been in/around their eggs/nest and they will abandon a nest and its eggs if they smell that. Please be careful around wildlife! (Your photos are really nice - I hope you don't think I'm attacking you!)

LOL, I love anonymous comments. Leave your name people!! Yes, this was a real birds nest but it was already abandoned otherwise we wouldn't have set the ring there but thanks for the comment. Keep em coming :)

This evening I had a local shoot which was so nice.  Balgonie is a great little town and we are loving it here.  Its amazing how quickly time passes as we have already been here for one year.  Anyway, tonight I got to work with the Ulrich Family.  Mike and Crystal are a lovely couple and have the sweetest, most well behaved kids.  After all the nice weather we have had, today was not so nice after that big storm last night.  So we started our shoot inside their lovely home to be on the safe side and then ventured outside for a few great shots to wrap things up.  It was super nice to meet you all and I look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood.  Enjoy these few images from tonight's session.

I know I always say this, but I truly do have the best clients.  I booked the wedding of these two just a month or so ago and liked them right away.  They really seemed to be enjoying planning for a unique wedding that was all about the two of them.  The other night we met for their engagement session.  I met them at their home and while Pam was just finishing up getting ready, Bob was going over the possible places they thought might work for locations.  Little did they know, they were sitting on the best possible location.....their home.  I absolutely loved it so we decided to stay right there, shoot inside a bit, around the grounds and then go for a quick walk on one of the trails that they frequent.  After this shoot I am even more excited to shoot their wedding.  They are such a fun loving and sincere couple and I love how Bob can make Pam laugh so easily.  That bodes well for a great marriage.  Anyway, here are just a small selection of images for their shoot.  Enjoy!
PS:  on a side note, the one image with the older couple in the background is such a sweet image.  That couple lives a few doors down and has been married for 62 years.  They were more than happy to add to the photo.  So sweet.  Another good omen for a great marriage I'd say.

I had the pleasure of shooting the grad photos for all of the Cowessess graduates again this year.  We were a bit concerned about finding a dry location but fortunately we found a pretty good one.  Actually, a special thank you to Kristal Whitehawk for checking out the area and finding the spot for us.  Congratulations to all of the girls that graduate.

The other evening it was so beautiful outside which was quite a fitting time photograph this wonderful family and these 2 amazing young people.  Jordan and Justin have been friends forever and they are graduating this Wednesday.  All I can say is "wow" what amazing young adults.  I always say that it took me 16 years to grow up after high school and realize what I wanted to be.  These two have it all figured out.  Jordan will be attending U of R on a swim scholarship and will be studying to become a lawyer.  Justin is going all the way to Quebec to study at McGill to be a reconstructive surgeon.  I was totally impressed at how they know exactly what they want to do and how to get there.  These are a couple of really smart kids and oh ya, pretty stylish too.  Thanks you guys for putting up with the mosquito's and the location changes.  I wish you both the very best.  Thanks Wendy and Mike as well.  You were so accommodating and a pleasure to work with.
