Its definitely been a busy fall with weddings wrapping up and people booking for family photos in the beautiful fall colors.  Quite a few sessions can't be blogged as they are Christmas presents but the other day I had the pleasure of shooting this lovely family, that I found out just so happens to live around the corner from me.  They found a great location and their girls were so adorable.  Here are just a few images from the morning.

Its funny how we forget how small our children were when they arrived into this world.  Today I got to meet Mr. C and he stole my heart right from the second he got here.  But he did things that most two week old baby's don't do.  He hardly slept.  Seriously.  Even with feeding and an incredibly warm house, he was awake for 3/4 of the session.  He never cried.  Not once.  He was so alert and looking around like a little bird the whole time.  It was amazing. He's just so adorable and was so good that Mom and dad know that they have a babysitter here if they need one.  Seriously, I would take him in a heart beat:)
Here's a few images from today.  He definitely cheers for the right teams.

Well today was just a blast.  That's the first thing that comes to mind.  That and the fact that I was amazed this beautiful young girl was coming all the way from High River Alberta.  With a love for the farm, old buildings, old trucks and photography, I was pretty sure we would hit it off right away and I was right.  Kelsie is just an absolute sweet heart and she totally rocked her photos.  Thanks for being so great to work with Kelsie and a special thanks to Sara for helping out all afternoon.

This past weekend I got to shoot a wedding that I have been waiting a long time to shoot.  Probably since my nephew Michael first introduced us to Jenn years ago.  Our entire family instantly fell for her, right along with Michael lol.  Seriously, we could not have picked a better bride, wife and best friend for Michael and we are absolutely honored to welcome her and her family into ours.  I have another nephew, right Philip ;).  Anyway, this past weekend was perfect.  The weather was great, the day ran smoothly and there were tons of "tears of joy".  I still tear up when I think about it.  So in closing I just want to say congratulations Michael and Jenn.  I know that you have a long and incredibly life ahead and can't wait to see the beautiful babies you guys make....one day :)  Love you both!

Last fall I had the extreme pleasure of shooting the wedding of Mandy and Dave Kozak. They were the most wonderful Bride and Groom and I love every time I run into them. Their wedding has recently been shared on the Wedding Bells website. How exciting. Its entitled "Family Ties". Take a look.

There is something about a small town wedding.  I know in the city, we are always fortunate to have access to some pretty nice places in case the weather is bad and in our small prairie towns, that isn't always the case.  However, there is still something about a small town wedding.  Maybe its the genuine people that open up their homes and yards to you.  Maybe its how everyone scrambles for keys to schools, heritage buildings and elevators just in case you might need them.  Maybe its how all the guests seem so genuinely thrilled for the newly married couple and applaud at the end of their vows, making them kiss three consecutive times until they were satisfied it was enough.  Maybe its all of the above.  Well this past weekend, I witnessed all of that.  So much laughter and tears that it truly makes your heart swell.  This lovely couple had the whole support of their towns and it was great to see.  We even went to the Kelvington High School, which is where each and every member of the wedding party went to High School.  Some may say that its not the perfect location for wedding photos, but others may realize how perfect it is.  Thank you Jill, Josh, your families and friends for making my day such a great one.  A special thanks to Bob and Linda Taylor for the use of their beautiful back yard during the 45 minutes of "no rain" on Saturday.  And congratulations again Jill and Josh.  You guys are a great couple and I know you have many happy years ahead of you.
